Mohit Sager is Group Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of OpenGov, a digital publishing platform and event production company focused on digital transformation in the public sector. Headquartered in Singapore, OpenGov provides trending news and research across a broad range of technology topics to government executives at the local, state and national government levels across ASEAN and APAC. OpenGov regularly holds bespoke forums and workshops in Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand, Thailand, The Philippines and Singapore.
Mohit’s energy is infectious, and delegates to events consistently comment on his inspiration and his ability to make government events interactive and fun. He is also passionate for positive, constructive change within the public sector and the importance of providing governments with opportunities to collaborate and learn from and celebrate their successes in digital transformation.
In 2014, Mohit formed OpenGov. Starting small with a focus on Singapore and Malaysia, this has since grown both geographically and industry, with the addition of health and education sectors. Watching several of his innovations in event production gradually become industry norms, Mohit has made continuous improvement his mantra.
Long hours, taking risks, and just plain hard work pays off. OpenGov received the Trade and Industry Association (TIAS) Presidents Award in 2015/16, an SME Asia Award for 2015/2016, a Sparks Media Gold Award for Best Event of the Year by Media Owner 2017, and a Media Publishers Association of Singapore (MPAS) for Event of the Year 2017. Mohit was recently honoured with the Rotary Singapore-ASME Award for Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 for his accomplishments in building OpenGov.
